Business Telephone System

If you are looking to relocate your office, it is important to do a few things first. The most important to remember is to contact your telephone line provider to confirm that the number can be moved to the new address. Sometimes, when you’re moving outside the current office location, you may not be able to keep the same number.

You also need to make sure that you notify them ahead of the scheduled move date, giving as much notice as possible. It can sometimes take up to a month for the lines to be allocated a relocation date, but will usually be longer for ISDN services. PSTN lines can usually be moved within a week, but of course the more notice you give your provider the smoother the transition to your new office should be.

And lastly, you need a qualified technician to determine the cabling requirements of the new site, dismantle the system from the old office, then bring it to your new site to be installed. You will be consulted about the location of the hardware, and also what new programming configuration you may require. We can offer this service to you and are always happy to assist every step of the way.

Moving your phone system? Here’s a checklist

    1. Tell your provider which services you want to move and when. Do this at least a month beforehand and make sure you keep records of your requests through email.

    2. Check the new site for cabling. If it is in poor condition or is lacking the correct infrastructure you should consider upgrading the cabling before the move while the site is empty.

    3. Notify your ADSL internet provider and tell them what line you will nominate the service to be activated on and find out the lead times for its reactivation and availability.

    4. Contact your technician and submit your telephone system information along with any other requirements or concerns so they can be addressed in time for the move.

    5. MOVE IN!
